Frequently asked questions
The service
What is headlight restoration?
Cloudy, yellowed or faded headlights are usually caused by sunlight, weather and road grime breaking down the outer surface of the lens. Restoration removes that damaged surface layer and refinishes the lens, improving the appearance of your headlights at a fraction of the cost of replacement units.
How much does it cost?
Restoration is £65 per pair. Our most popular option adds ceramic protection for £85 per pair. Mobile appointments are confirmed individually — you pay a £20 deposit when you request, and we confirm the final price with you before the job.
How long does it take?
Workshop appointments are booked as one-hour slots, Monday–Saturday 10:00–18:00.
Can every headlight be restored?
Every lens is assessed first. Most cloudy or yellowed lenses respond well to restoration, but badly cracked or damaged units may still need replacing — we'll always tell you honestly before starting.
Will cloudy headlights fail an MOT?
Headlights must be secure and in reasonable condition for an MOT, and heavy discolouration is something testers can pick up on. Restoration improves the appearance and condition of the lens, but we can't guarantee any specific MOT outcome — every car is assessed on its own merits.
DIY kits vs professional restoration
I already tried a DIY kit. Can you still help?
Yes — many customers come to us after trying a high-street kit. Kits often polish the surface temporarily without properly refinishing it, so the cloudiness returns quickly. A professional job removes the damaged layer fully and finishes the lens with a protective treatment, so results last far better.
Why do DIY results fade so fast?
The plastic lens is exposed to the same sun and grime that clouded it in the first place. Without a proper protective finish, the surface starts deteriorating again almost immediately.

What happens with mobile requests?
If we can't accept your requested mobile appointment, we'll offer alternative times first. If none are suitable, we'll refund your £20 deposit in full.
Aftercare
How should I look after my headlights afterwards?
Wash them gently with car shampoo and avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cloths. Results vary with the lens condition and how the car is kept. Adding ceramic protection helps shield the surface and makes water and dirt easier to rinse off.
